Following on from the successes of last year where the Men's first team reaching the final in the Cheshire Plate competition ( they won it in 2007) and the Ladies team have been promoted for three successive years within the Cheshire Women's League, training starts again in preparation for the coming season.

Knutsford Hockey Club (KHC) was established in 1910 and is one of the oldest and most established sporting institutions in the town.  It has been an important part of the social fabric of Knutsford for almost a century. 

Over the past few years we have successfully expanded the Club to include 3 Senior Mens and 1 Senior Ladies teams, and have an ever-expanding Junior section covering the ages of 6 to 16.  We are also in the process of setting up a Ladies 2nd XI.

In total the Club has circa one hundred active and social members.   The majority of the membership is in the age range of 18-40 and based in Knutsford and the surrounding towns.

The teams play in league and cup competitions throughout the North West and therefore travel extensively throughout the area.  The Men's first team play in the prestigious North West First Division and have been finalists in the Cheshire Plate competition for the previous two years - winning it in 2007.  Whilst our Ladies team have been promoted for three successive years within the Cheshire Women's League. 

Our home games are played at Knutsford Leisure Centre, Westfield Drive and our Clubhouse is at Cross Town Bowling Club, Chelford Road.

The 2008/09 Season

KHC re-start training for the 2008/09 season imminently.   This year Mens' and Senior Boys training is to be held on a Tuesday night from 8pm for 1 hour at Knutsford Leisure Centre.  The start date is Tuesday 19th August.

Ladies and Senior Girls training continues on a Wednesday night from 7pm until 8pm at Knutsford Leisure Centre.  Start date is Wednesday 20th August.

All skill levels and age are welcome.  Come and play competitively or just for fun.  Knutsford HC caters for everyone.

Training for both Primary school and lower Secondary school children will commence in September/October so please look out for further information regarding this soon.

Socials

We are a very social Club and have at least 2 social evenings a year, along with our AGM night and our Annual Dinner & Awards Presentation.

We also run a Fantasy Hockey league - this year's Ladies Captain Gill Cheshire won the competition along with £100. 

Our Centenary

We are currently in planning mode for our Centenary year, which will begin in September 2010.  We welcome contact from any old players who would like to be involved or kept informed of our plans.
