Lovely Made Sauces and Chutneys
The wonderful thing about Knutsford is that it has some amazing characters with a passion for what they do, and probably one of the most passionate run the amazing Deli and restaurant, Via Via. Lello of Via Via and his wife Laura have made an amazing selection of Chutneys and sauces from the finest ingredients and launched the 'Lovely Made' brand onto the shelves of Knutsford.
Lello comments "As Italians we really appreciate beautiful cheese for its individuality freshness and flavour - so we needed to find something that would compliment this taste perfectly. After living in the UK for 10 years, Laura (my lovely wife) and I decided to try our cheese platters with some other chutney brands but most of them were either too sweet or too spicy, and this inevitably ruined the taste of the cheese. Our only option was to make some chutney for ourselves."
Laura prepares them with the same care and passion as she cooks for her children at home, so it is a real homemade product.
Lovely Made Chutneys are available over the counter at Via Via Delicatessen (Knutsford), Granthams Fine Food and wine (Alderley Edge), Alison's country kitchen (Tattenhall), Davenports Farm Shop (Northwich) and online at http://www.lovelymade.net
We've been sampling the range of Chutneys this week here at the Knutsfood offices and for the last few days and nights have probably been eating a bit to much cheese, but the dreams have been worth the effort. The first thing you notice about these chutneys is the amazing colour of them all, from the rich vibrant reds of the Red Pepper Chutney and the golden browns of the Red Onion Chutney through to the vivid green of the Celery Chutney. So, the cheese board looks amazing but what about the taste. To be honest I was a bit apprehensive about whether some of these flavours would work but after trying them all with various cheeses, on my sarnies and with dinner all week, I think there's something really special about what they've managed to create at Lovely made.
