Volunteers Needed to Help Save Lives

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trusts' Knutsford Community First Responder (CFR) team is looking for new volunteers to join them.

The Knutsford CFR team attend emergency calls in and around the Knutsford area and administer life saving support to patients whilst awaiting the arrival of an ambulance.

Volunteers are sought from the local area. Recruitment and selection follows NWAS procedures and health checks, criminal records bureau checks and driving licence checks are carried out. Following interview and acceptance a full training programme is delivered by NWAS.

The Knutsford Community First Responder team is supported by The Knutsford CommunityFirst Responder Trust, which as a Registered Charity acts as an umbrella for 3 initiatives: the Community First Responder team, a Community HeartStart training scheme and a publicdefibrillator initiative. All members of the Knutsford Community First Responder Trust are volunteers whose aim is to preserve life and promote recovery in an emergency situation.

Knutsford Community First Responder Coordinator, John Mills said: "we have a nice, friendlyteam at Knutsford, who are dedicated to making a difference to the local community.

"We want to expand our team to provide Knutsford with more volunteers so if there are anypeople in the local area who are interested in becoming a Community First Responder, or require more information, please contact me on 01565 652348".
